Otavalo - About the Place

Except the tourist, Otavalo is a quite flokloric village since you will see many indians dressed traditionally. The woman are all carrying their baby in their back and sometime the baby will be replaced by an alive chicken !!!
Do not hesitate to bargain and to ask for the discount you are entitled!!! That is part of the game !
You will surely be "harassed" by some beggers ( sorry for the strength of the word but at least you will be warned ! You could be having an arguement with your other half, they would still interrupt you to ask for money ( I am not making that up !!! Seen with my own eyes.)). But most of them are really old women so be lenient.
