Quito -History
Quito's origins are in the pre-Columbian era, and was then inhabited by the tribes of the Caras and the Quitus. The incas controlled the whole area at the beginning of the 16th century.

Then the Spanish arrived and Quito became the Real Audencia de Quito. The Capital was built on the ruins of an Inca city by Sebastian Benalcazar.
The current Historic Center dates of the end of the 18th century.
