The Historic center of Quito is really worth visiting.
First of all you cannot avoid the "Plaza de la Independencia" with the cathedral the house of the mayor of Quito and the presidential house.
You should also visit the "Plaza de San Francisco"and "the "Plaza de Santo Domingo. Both of them have a church and a monestary. Anyway, you will get lost among so many churches everywhere. They are all worth getting in.
But we would advise you a guided tour if you really want to know more about the historical part.
