The village is very very small. It is mainly one place, the place you will find in any city, town or village of Ecuador. But it is nice and peaceful. There is a good pizzeria with a nice ambiance and a nice restaurant too.
There is also a park where you can go for hikes, ask for the information at the place you are staying in. There are birds to be watched in the area and you might want the help of a guide.
